The bell above the door jingled, announcing the arrival of a customer, but Fred and George Weasley barely looked up from their latest prototype. The war was over, and Diagon Alley was slowly rebuilding. Their shop, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, had survived, and business was booming. They were in their element, surrounded by Whiz-bangs and Ton-Tongue Toffees.

Then he walked in. Draco Malfoy, looking oddly out of place in his perfectly tailored robes, his hair no longer slicked back but falling softly over his forehead. He held a parchment from the Ministry, his expression unreadable.

“Weasleys,” he said, his voice lacking its usual sneer.

George raised an eyebrow. “Malfoy. Come to stock up on Puking Pastilles for a family reunion?”

Fred snickered, but Draco didn't rise to the bait. “I’ve been assigned here for community service. Three months.”

Silence. Then Fred and George exchanged a look. This was going to be interesting.

The first week was awkward. Draco kept to himself, stocking shelves with a sullen air. But the twins couldn't resist teasing him. They’d set off a Dungbomb near his station, or charm a box to squirt water when he opened it. To their surprise, Draco didn't retaliate with hexes. He just sighed and cleaned up.

One afternoon, Fred found Draco staring at a display of Love Potions. “Thinking of spiking someone’s drink?” Fred asked, leaning against the counter.

Draco’s cheeks flushed. “No. I was just… wondering how they work.”

“They’re not for real love, you know,” Fred said, his tone softer. “Just infatuation. Real love takes more than a potion.”

Draco looked at him, grey eyes meeting brown. “And you’d know?”

Fred shrugged. “Maybe I’m learning.”

That evening, George noticed a change in Fred. He was quieter, lost in thought. “You okay, Freddie?”

“Malfoy’s not what I expected,” Fred admitted.

George nodded. “He’s trying. I’ll give him that.”

Over the weeks, the ice thawed. Draco started helping with inventions, his sharp mind offering clever modifications. He laughed at their jokes, hesitantly at first, then genuinely. The twins found themselves looking forward to his company.

One rainy evening, after closing up, they shared a bottle of Firewhisky in the back room. The conversation turned personal. Draco spoke of his father’s expectations, the pressure of being a Malfoy. Fred and George listened without judgment.

Then, in a moment of silence, Fred leaned over and kissed him. Draco’s eyes widened, but he didn't pull away. When they broke apart, George was watching, his expression soft.

“I think I’ve been wanting that for a while,” Draco whispered.

“We both have,” George said, moving closer.

It was tentative at first, a dance of hesitant touches and whispered confessions. But soon, they found a rhythm. A relationship that defied all odds. They’d steal kisses in the storage room, hold hands under the counter. The shop became their sanctuary.

One night, as they lay tangled together in the flat above the shop, Draco asked, “How did this happen? We were enemies.”

Fred traced a pattern on his arm. “Maybe we needed to be enemies first to appreciate this.”

George added, “Love isn’t about ignoring differences. It’s about accepting them.”

Draco smiled, a real smile, and kissed them both. The war was over, and something new had begun. A love that was unexpected, but fiercely real.
