Starlight Serenade
Under the starlit Seoul sky, Hyunjin and Felix confess their long-hidden feelings for each other on the rooftop of their dorm, sharing a tender first kiss and beginning a new chapter in their relationship, much to the amusement of their group members.
The night air was cool and crisp, carrying the faint scent of cherry blossoms from the park below. Hyunjin leaned against the railing of their dorm's rooftop, his eyes fixed on the city lights that twinkled like scattered diamonds. He loved this view—the way Seoul transformed into a sea of stars after dusk. But tonight, something was different. His heart was restless, a fluttering sensation he couldn't quite name.
"Hyunjin?"
He turned at the sound of the soft voice. Felix stood in the doorway, his blonde hair tousled by the wind, his freckles barely visible under the dim glow of the moon. He was wrapped in an oversized hoodie, his hands shoved into the pockets.
"Couldn't sleep?" Hyunjin asked, his voice gentle.
Felix shook his head, stepping closer until he was beside Hyunjin. "You too?"
They stood in comfortable silence, the only sounds being the distant hum of traffic and the whisper of the breeze. Hyunjin stole a glance at Felix, marveling at how the moonlight seemed to cast a silver halo around him. He had always been beautiful, but lately, Hyunjin found himself noticing more—the way his laugh lines crinkled, the depth of his brown eyes, the delicate curve of his lips.
"What are you thinking about?" Felix asked, turning to meet his gaze.
Hyunjin's breath hitched. He couldn't say the truth—that he was thinking about Felix. So he lied. "Just... the stars. They're really bright tonight."
Felix looked up, his expression thoughtful. "They are. But you know what's brighter?"
"What?"
"Your eyes."
Hyunjin felt his cheeks warm. Felix had a way of saying things so earnestly that it made Hyunjin's heart race. He tried to play it cool, nudging Felix's shoulder. "Cheesy."
"Maybe," Felix said, a playful smile spreading across his face. "But it's true."
They fell back into silence, but it was charged with something unspoken. Hyunjin's mind raced. For months, he had been battling his feelings, trying to convince himself that what he felt for Felix was just brotherly affection. But moments like this—when Felix's presence felt like a warm blanket on a cold night—he knew it was more.
"Can I tell you something?" Felix's voice was barely a whisper.
Hyunjin's heart pounded. "Of course."
Felix turned to face him fully, his eyes searching Hyunjin's. "I've been wanting to say this for a while, but I was scared. I didn't want to ruin what we have."
Hyunjin swallowed hard. "You can tell me anything."
Felix took a shaky breath. "I think I'm in love with you."
The words hung in the air, fragile and beautiful. Hyunjin felt the world tilt, his ears ringing with the confession. He stared at Felix, seeing the vulnerability in his eyes—the fear of rejection.
"Felix..." Hyunjin's voice cracked. He reached out, his fingers brushing against Felix's cheek. "I've been trying to deny it for so long, but I love you too."
Felix's eyes widened, a smile breaking through the uncertainty. "Really?"
"Really," Hyunjin confirmed, his thumb gently caressing Felix's skin. "Every time I see you, my heart feels like it's going to burst. I didn't know how to tell you."
Felix laughed, a sound like wind chimes. "We're both idiots."
"Total idiots," Hyunjin agreed, pulling Felix into a tight embrace. He buried his face in Felix's hair, inhaling the familiar scent of lavender and warmth. "I was so scared to lose you."
"You'll never lose me," Felix murmured against his shoulder.
They stayed like that for a long moment, the world forgotten. When they finally pulled apart, their eyes met, and Hyunjin knew there was no going back. He cupped Felix's face in his hands, leaning in slowly, giving Felix time to pull away. But Felix didn't move; instead, he closed his eyes, his breath hitching.
Their lips met in a soft, tentative kiss. It was sweet and gentle, like the first rain of spring. Hyunjin's heart soared, and he pulled Felix closer, deepening the kiss. Felix's hands tangled in Hyunjin's hair, and the world melted away.
When they broke apart, both were breathless, foreheads resting together.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," Felix whispered.
"Me too," Hyunjin replied, a smile spreading across his face. "But we should probably go inside before the others notice we're gone."
"Let them notice," Felix said with a grin. "I don't want this moment to end."
Hyunjin chuckled, taking Felix's hand. "We have all the time in the world now."
They stayed on the rooftop for a little longer, watching the stars and stealing kisses until the cold forced them inside. As they crept back into the dorm, hand in hand, Hyunjin felt a sense of peace he hadn't felt in a long time. He had found his starlight, and he would cherish it forever.
The next morning, the members noticed the change immediately. Chan raised an eyebrow as Hyunjin and Felix entered the kitchen, fingers intertwined.
"Finally," Chan said, a knowing smile on his face.
"Took you long enough," Changbin added, not looking up from his coffee.
Hyunjin blushed, but Felix just laughed, squeezing his hand. "Worth the wait."
And as they sat down for breakfast, surrounded by their family, Hyunjin knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful story. One written in the stars, guided by love.
