The summer solstice sun hung low over the Olympic Peninsula, casting long shadows through the trees that bordered the Cullen estate. For the first time in history, two families—one of vampire and shapeshifter, the other of animatronic and haunted soul—had come together to celebrate a new beginning.

William Afton stood at the edge of the clearing, his purple vest neat despite the warmth. Beside him, his son Michael kept a watchful eye on the younger ones: Eddie, Chris, and Abby. Vanessa, the sheriff's daughter, had brought her father's old patrol car, and Liam was arguing with Jeremy about who got to sit in it first.

“It’s good to see the children playing,” Carlisle Cullen said, approaching with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. He was always wary of the Afton patriarch, but today was about peace.

“They’re not all children,” William replied, nodding toward the animatronics arranged around a large table laden with food. Freddy Fazbear was pouring lemonade into cups, while Bonnie adjusted his bow tie. Chica had brought cupcakes—her own recipe—and Foxy was entertaining a group of teenagers with tales of pirate adventures. Mangle, disassembled but cheerful, handed out party hats.

Bella Swan, now a mother of two, watched her daughter Renesmee play tag with the younger Aftons. “They’re surprisingly gentle,” she remarked to Edward, who had his arm around her waist.

“They have souls,” Edward said, his golden eyes fixed on the Puppet, who floated silently near the edge of the gathering. “I can hear their thoughts. They’re full of joy—and confusion. They don’t fully understand why they’re here.”

“Because William wanted a truce,” Bella said. “After everything, he wants to start over.”

Jacob Black, having phased back into human form, snorted. “Right. The guy who killed all those kids.” He pointed to Susie and Gabriel, who were playing croquet with Fritz and Cass. “They seem fine, but I don’t trust him.”

“None of us do,” Alice said, skipping over to them. “But I’ve seen a future where this works. And it’s beautiful.”

Henry Emily, who had been silent most of the day, finally spoke. “I helped create the animatronics. I never imagined this.” He looked at the Puppet, which had once been his daughter’s vessel. “But I believe in second chances.”

As the evening deepened, Esme and Rosalie set out candles, and Emmett carried a massive cooler of blood bags and vegetable platters. Jazz music played softly from a speaker, and the animatronics began to dance—a clumsy, endearing waltz.

Springtrap stood apart, his mangled form hidden in shadows. William approached him. “You can join us, old friend.”

“I am what I am,” Springtrap rasped. “But for tonight, I will try.”

At the center of the clearing, a bonfire was lit. The families gathered round, sharing stories. Jessica Stanley told a hilarious tale of a vampire encounter gone wrong. Garrett recited poetry. Charlie Swan, the only human besides Jessica and Jeremy, hoisted a mug of tea and made a toast to “unlikely alliances.”

Then, the Puppet rose into the air, its painted face serene. It made a gesture, and the animatronics began to sing—a haunting, beautiful melody that spoke of loss and hope. Tears fell from human eyes, and even the vampires were moved.

When the song ended, William Afton stepped forward. “I have done terrible things,” he said, his voice carrying over the fire. “But I am trying to become better. For my children—the ones I failed, and the ones I still have.” He looked at Michael, who nodded slowly. “And for the souls I trapped. They deserve peace.”

Carlisle clasped his hand. “Then we grant you that chance. Under one condition: that we all remain here, together, and protect our shared home.”

A cheer went up—from human, vampire, shapeshifter, and animatronic alike. They were no longer enemies. They were a family, bound by tragedy and hope.

As the stars emerged, Renesmee tugged on Edward’s sleeve. “Daddy, will they be here tomorrow?”

Edward smiled, looking at the gathered crowd—at William and Michael, at Freddy and Bonnie, at the Cullens and the pack. “Yes, love. I think we all will.”

The bonfire crackled, and the night sang with laughter. The summer solstice had brought light to all of them, and that light would not fade.
