The practice room was bathed in the soft glow of the city lights filtering through the large windows. Keonho sat on the floor, his back against the mirrored wall, watching Seonghyeon go through the choreography one more time. The music was low, barely a whisper, but Seonghyeon moved with a grace that made Keonho’s heart ache.

They had been friends for years, trainees together, debutmates, now members of the same group. But somewhere along the way, Keonho’s feelings had shifted. He no longer saw Seonghyeon as just a friend. Every laugh, every touch, every shared glance sent a thrill through him that he couldn’t ignore.

Seonghyeon paused, breathing heavily, and turned to face him. “What are you staring at?” he asked, a playful smile on his lips.

“You,” Keonho replied, his voice soft. He hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but the word slipped out before he could stop it.

Seonghyeon’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second, then he laughed, running a hand through his damp hair. “You’re weird today.”

“Maybe,” Keonho said, standing up. He walked over to where Seonghyeon stood, close enough to feel the heat radiating from his body. “Can I tell you something?”

Seonghyeon’s playful expression faded, replaced by curiosity. “Of course. What is it?”

Keonho took a deep breath. This was it. He had been holding back for too long. “I like you, Seonghyeon. Not just as a friend. I like you in a way that keeps me up at night, that makes me want to hold your hand and never let go.”

Silence hung between them. Seonghyeon’s breath caught, and his eyes searched Keonho’s face for any sign of a joke. When he found none, he swallowed hard. “Keonho…”

“I know it’s complicated,” Keonho continued, his voice trembling slightly. “We’re in a group, we have fans, we have responsibilities. But I couldn’t keep it inside any longer. I needed you to know.”

Seonghyeon stepped closer, his hand reaching out to touch Keonho’s cheek. “I’ve been feeling the same way,” he whispered. “I was just too scared to say anything.”

Keonho’s heart soared. He leaned into the touch, closing his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, Seonghyeon was smiling, a soft, genuine smile that made his world brighter.

“So what do we do now?” Keonho asked.

“We figure it out together,” Seonghyeon said, his hand sliding down to take Keonho’s. Their fingers intertwined, warm and familiar yet new and exciting.

They stood there in the quiet room, the city lights twinkling outside, holding each other’s hands. It was a small step, but it was theirs.

From that night on, they found moments stolen between schedules: a glance across the stage, a brush of hands in the van, late-night conversations in the dorm when everyone else was asleep. They were cautious, but they were happy.

One evening, after a long day of filming, they sat on the rooftop of their building. The stars were hidden behind the city glow, but they didn’t mind. They had each other.

“Do you ever regret it?” Seonghyeon asked, leaning his head on Keonho’s shoulder.

“Regret what?”

“Us. The risk.”

Keonho wrapped an arm around him, pulling him closer. “Never. You’re worth every risk.”

Seonghyeon tilted his head up, and their lips met in a gentle kiss. It was soft, sweet, and full of promise.

Under the starlight, they found their home in each other.

And that was enough.
